God Has the Final Word

From beginning to the end God’s word stands. He “breathed into your nostrils the breath of life” (Genesis 2:7), his Word started our beginning and his Words will be our end.

There are two possible ends:

  1. “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!'” Matthew 25:21
  2. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Matthew 7: 21-23

Whether it be the desired “well done” or “depart from Me,” God has the final word!

For as long as I can remember I have allowed the words of my peers, family, coworkers, managers, neighbours, and teachers to dictate who I was and how I saw myself. I even went as far as to put their words above God’s. Despite knowing that I am “fearfully and wonderfully made,” (Psalm 139:14) I allowed the opinions of others to surpass those Words of my God. I decided to take in “ugly,” “stupid,” and “failure,” instead of “valuable,” “new,” and “wonderful.”

I never stopped to ask, “What does God think about me? Who does he say that I am?”

If I did my research I’d know that God crowned all his children with glory and honour as the pinnacle and final act of the six days of creation.

However, many fall into the trap I have, exchanging the truth about ourself for a lie. We worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25). We have sinned and fallen short of His glory (Romans 3:23). We turned aside from him. We became corrupt. After all, there is none who does good, not even one (Psalm 14:2-3).

And yet, in his great love he gave His Son, that all those who believe in him will not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Sin doesn’t have the last word. Grace does (Romans 5:20).

Now everyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved (Romans 10:13). We who believe  are born again (1 Peter 1:3). He has adopted us (Ephesians 1:5). We are children of God, heirs of God (1 John 3:2; Romans 8:16-17). We are no longer orphans. We belong to him (John 14:18; 1 Corinthians 6:19). And He is our perfect Father (1 John 3:1; Luke 15:20-24).

The Cross has the final say over all! Nothing higher, nothing greater than the name of Jesus. His Word holds all the power! His say is the ONLY say that matters. And He says we are HIS!!

Your battle is not with changing yourself to fit in it is with the Trash Talker!

Nobody ever really looks at the devil like he’s a trash talker, but he isn’t a truth talker! The Truth Talker’s name is Jesus. He talked trash to Jesus, and Jesus spoke Truth to him, and Trash had to leave.

The next time the Trash Talker starts to drive you crazy throw your head back and say, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God!” Sometimes you have to talk back to the devil and those who try and go against the Word of God!

This week’s song is Final Say by Cody Carnes

Lyrics:
VERSE 1
The Cross Has the Final Word
The Cross Has the Final Word

Sorrow may come in the darkest night
but The Cross Has the Final Word

The Cross Has the Final Word
The Cross Has the Final Word

Evil may put up it’s strongest fight
but The Cross Has the Final Word

CHORUS
The Cross Has the Final Word
The Cross Has the Final Word

The Savior has the come with the morning light
The Cross Has the Final Word

The Cross Has the Final Word
The Cross Has the Final Word

He traded death for eternal life
The Cross Has the Final Word

Bridge (X3)
There is nothing stronger,
Nothing higher,
Nothing greater,
Than the name of Jesus

All the honor,
All the power,
All the glory,
to the name of Jesus

CHORUS
The Cross Has the Final Word
The Cross Has the Final Word

The Savior has the come with the morning light
The Cross Has the Final Word

The Cross Has the Final Word
The Cross Has the Final Word

He traded death for eternal life
The Cross Has the Final Word

END
Whatever may come by, by his side
The Cross Has the Final Word
