“I Am Who I Am”

Here’s another post for your Monday blues, something to bring you not only into this new week but this new month of February with God on your mind.

Exodus 3:13–15 says,

Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.”

Right now there are many of you who are facing some really tough times some in finances, some in family relationships, some in your relationship with the Lord, some in physical health, and some of you might be facing all of these. Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely times in the life of a Christian where things just don’t seem to go very well and those are the times that Satan tends to hit you the hardest. But, if we would just let God be God and do what He promised without intruding and running from faith to fear we would be set.

We must never forget one thing – just because we love the Lord and we are doing our best to serve Him, does not guarantee that we will go through life without facing some really tough times.

God say’s He is the one who sees a need and always provides. He is the one who’s name is a tower where we can run and hide. He is the one has all power in His hand. If we believe in His word we can stand. He is healer, mender of broken hearts. Alpha and Omega, where we start and end. He is the one who does impossible things. What in your life is too impossible for our “I AM”?

Trust Him in spite of it all and Jesus will bring you through. The time and manner in which your deliverance will come is in the hands of our Sovereign God and changes for every individual. Do you trust Him enough to just let go and let God? The victory is yours if you will only trust Him until the answer comes.

In Jesus Christ we who are born of God have the unspeakable privilege of knowing Yahweh as our Father — I AM WHO I AM — the God

  • who exists
  • whose personality and power is owing solely to himself
  • who never changes
  • from whom all power and energy in the universe flows
  • and to whom all creation should conform its life.

This is the name of God: I AM WHO I AM! And may those who know the name of God put their trust in him.

This week’s song is I Am by Jason Nelson as it encloses all that God proclaimed He is.

Lyrics:
I AM the Creator,
I AM the Maker
Of the Universe.
I AM the ONE who, spoke into nothing
And all creation heard.

I AM He
Who has all Power in my hands.
And if you believe
On My Word you can stand.

I AM Healer
Mender of broken hearts.
Alpha Omega
Your destiny and where you start.
I AM the ONE
Who does impossible things.
That’s who I AM, just let me be who I AM
To you.
That’s who I AM, just let me be who I AM
For you.

I AM the ONE who
Sees a need and always provides.
I AM the ONE whose
Name is a tower, where you can run and hide
I AM He, who has all Power in my hands.
And if you believe, on My Word you can stand.

And if there’s a need…
I AM
When you are sick
I AM
You’re overwhelmed in the moment right now, but…
I AM
You can’t see your way
I AM
oo-oo that’s who I AM
That’s who I AM
Just let Me be who I AM
For you.

The doctor says cancer but…
I AM
The lawyer says jail time…
I AM
You can’t see your way
I AM
And you’re losing your mind….
I AM
You gotta know it’s not too hard for ME
I AM
You gotta know that I can handle it
I AM
Hear the word of the Lord, Just let me fix it
I AM
Just let me fix it
I AM

That’s who I AM, just let me be who I AM
To you.
That’s who I AM
Just let Me be who I AM
For you.
